Our Woman-Run Law Firm

White Davis and White Law Firm is one of few woman-run law firms in Anderson, South Carolina. We wanted to highlight the story of our founder, Druanne D. White, and attorneys Joy Davis and Ashlea White.

Druanne White founded the firm in 2005. She has been an aggressive trial lawyer since 1985 and has tried hundreds of cases in front of juries and judges. After graduating from law school at the University of South Carolina in 1984, Druanne served her country as a JAG officer in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Captain.. Following her service in the US Marine Corps, she served the State of South Carolina as an assistant solicitor for eleven years and then served as the Tenth Circuit Solicitor for four years.

Druanne now assists clients in all family court matters, including divorces, adoptions, custody disputes, and other family court proceedings. During her decades long carreer, she has also tried hundreds of cases involving homicides and thousands of cases involving other major and minor crimes. Druanne is also frequently hired by clients in other areas of the law due to her extensive trial experience and aggressive style of advocacy.

Druanne has received numerous honors throughout her career, including being elected Prosecutor of the Year by the South Carolina Solicitor’s Association, receiving an appointment from the Governor of South Carolina to a 4-year term on the S.C. Prosecution Commission, which coordinates the state’s prosecution of capital cases; and being awarded the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor. Druanne assisted in drafting Stephanie’s Law, which the South Carolina Legislature passed to protect abused children. She has testified before the South Carolina Legislature as an expert witness on the topics of capital punishment, jury strikes, and felony DUI legislation. Druanne was also called to testify as an expert witness before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C.

We also would not be the firm we are today without amazing attorneys Ashlea White and Joy Davis.

Joy Davis is a former Olympic Trial Qualifying, Division I NCAA All-American Swimmer who now practices family law, criminal defense, and personal injury law across the Upstate. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Joy was a prosecutor with the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s (District Attorney) Office (Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties) and then the Tenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office (Anderson and Oconee Counties).  The years Joy spent as a prosecutor were on the heels of her success as a decorated college athlete. Joy focuses her practice on criminal defense, family law, and personal injury-type cases.

Ashlea White is a family court and criminal defense attorney who began practicing law in Mississippi in 2011, but has practiced law at our firm in South Carolina since 2013. Ashlea assists clients in all family court matters, including divorces, adoptions, custody disputes, and other family court proceedings. Additionally, Ashlea is an aggressive advocate for clients accused of crimes, including all types of misdemeanors and felonies. Ashlea is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and Mississippi. Practicing in two different states has given her a unique perspective on the law, and has given her the ability to adapt to changes in the law and the dynamic nature of cases.

We are grateful to be run by such strong women in law.
